Watertown Police Log: Copper Wire Stolen, Shoplifters Nabbed at Target

Arrests
March 13, 2:04 p.m.: An officer patrolling in Watertown Square spotted a car with an expired registration sticker and when the car was pulled over he discovered the driver had an outstanding warrant, said Watertown Police Sgt. Michael Lawn. Stephen V. Daniels, 43, of 71 Etna St. in Boston, was arrested on a warrant out of Brighton District Court for assault and battery and failure to pay tolls.

March 13, 2:51 p.m.: Target security spotted a man placing merchandise worth $496 in a shopping cart and left without paying, Lawn said. Asher M. Eyllon, 26, of 7 Murdock Ter. in Boston, was arrested on a charge of larceny of over $250.
March 14, 7:57 p.m.: A woman filled a shopping cart with $1,193 into a shopping cart at Target and attempted to leave the store, Lawn said. Jacinta C. Smith, 35, of 7 Temple St. Apt. 327 in Cambridge, was arrested on a charge of larceny of over $250.

March 14, 8:53 p.m.: An officer on patrol spotted a car speeding on Arsenal Street and discovered that the driver had an outstanding warrant, Lawn said. Jong Lee, 26, of 245 Main St. Apt. 42 in Watertown, was arrested on a warrant from Waltham District Court for traffic offenses.
March 17, 9:37 p.m.: An officer patrolling on Spring Street ran the registration of a Mazda and found the owner had an outstanding warrant, Lawn said. Leily Dadfarid, 29, of 461 Main St. in Sharon, was arrested on a warrant out of Stoughton District Court for traffic offenses.
Incidents
March 11, 2:26 p.m.: A woman parked her car on California Street near the bridge and went for a walk. When she returned she found her car had been ransacked and someone took two inhalers, a Sony handheld game system, prescription medication and some loose change, Lawn said. The car was left unlocked.
March 12, 10:57 a.m.: An employee of an electric company working on the construction site at 290 Pleasant St. said someone forced open the door of a storage area and took five spools of copper wire worth about $1,500, Lawn said.
March 13, 12:35 p.m.: A man reported that over the previous two days someone took his iPad out of his car, Lawn said. He was not sure where the theft occurred.
March 15, 9:02 a.m.: A man had parked his car in front of a friend’s house on Ladd Street and when he returned he saw someone had keyed his 2012 Acura’s rear passenger side door and the wheel well, Lawn said.
March 15, 11:34 a.m.: Sometime since March 13 someone took 25 granite stair treads from a fenced in area at McVey Monument Co. worth $1,400, Lawn said.
March 16, 10:17 a.m.: The owner of HealthCare Massage in the Arsenal Mall came in and found someone took a 40-inch television, an external hard drive and a Sony Playstation game system, Lawn said. There were no signs of forced entry.
