Watertown Police Log: Man Hits Car, Faces OUI Charge and Wallet Stolen at Mall

The following arrest information was supplied by the Watertown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

Arrests

March 30, 11:44 p.m.: A Lexington St. resident heard a bang and when he came out he found that someone had hit a parked and unoccupied car, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. Police arrived and found the driver had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. Field sobriety tests were performed, and police arrested Jesse Knapp-Stumpp, 26, of 47 Standish Road in Cambridge, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

March 31, 3:56 a.m.: An officer patrolling in Watertown Square spotted a motor vehicle run a red light and when he stopped the car he found out the driver had a suspended license, Lawn said. Dedrick C. Lindsey, 29, of 18 Greenbrier Street in Dorchester, was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license – a subsequent offense, and failing to stop.

March 31, 10 a.m.: Police dealt with a domestic incident on Elton Avenue, Lawn said. Paul G. Ellis, 63, of 58 Elton Avenue in Watertown, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

March 31, 6:51 p.m.: Police got a call about an unwanted woman at a home on Philip Darch Road, Lawn said. Police asked her to leave and she continued to yell and scream, Lawn said. Miranda Lee McHugh, 32, of 53 Philip Darch Road, was arrested on a charge of disturbing the peace.

March 4, 2:03 p.m.: An officer patrolling near the Arsenal Mall saw a man acting suspiciously and when they checked his record they found he had an outstanding warrant, Lawn said. Alexander Ingraiti, 54, of 30 Henley St. in Medford, was arrested on a warrant from Malden District Court for traffic offenses.

 

Incidents

April 1, 1:25 p.m.: A resident parked on Arsenal Street and when he returned the car he noticed someone had broken in and taken his iPhone 4 cell phone and $300 in cash, Lawn said. There were no signs of forced entry.

April 2, 11:36 a.m.: A car parked on Lexington Street and left his car unlocked. Someone took $60 in quarters and a GPS device from the car, Lawn said.

April 2, 4:47 p.m.: Two teenaged girls were spotted putting items in their bags at CVS on Main Street and try to leave, but security stopped them, Lawn said. The girls admitted to taking items from CVS and from a Walgreens in Newton, Lawn said. The items were worth a total of $185.44. The two 17 year olds from Newton will be summonsed to Waltham District Court.

April 3, 3:29 p.m.: A woman shopping at Bath & Body Works at the Arsenal Mall when someone took her wallet out of her carriage, Lawn said. She spotted a Hispanic male, around 5-foot-10-inches tall near her carriage just before the wallet went missing. The wallet contained a passport, a license and $60 in cash.

April 3, 7:54 p.m.: A woman pulled up to get gas at the Mutual Station on Mt. Auburn Street and asked for $25 in gas, but after the attendant pumped the gas she said she only wanted $5 and drove off, Lawn said. The employee said he checked that she wanted $25 before pumping and she said yes.

April 4, 6:59 p.m.: A Bromfield Street resident came home from work and found that someone might have been in his home, Lawn said. A jewelry box was left open and diamond earring, cash and gift cards were missing, Lawn said.

April 6, 9:48 p.m.: An Appleton Street resident suspects someone broke into his home, Lawn said. He reported jewelry – two rings worth $1,200 and gold chains worth $250 - and money missing and that it was last seen the previous Monday.

April 7, 12:13 a.m.: A Watertown resident reported that someone broke into her car while it was parked at Starbucks, Lawn said. A driver’s license, cash and gift cards were taken.
