Berkeley Police Make Four Narcan Saves In Less Than A Week
Three of the saves were made on the same day, police chief says.

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Berkeley police officers made four Narcan saves recently, including three in one day, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichael said.
The first came at 6:47 a.m. on Oct. 3, when Sgt. Frank Bruno and Patrolmen Joseph Chrzanowski, Michael Ptaszenski, Michael Tanis and Justin Heffernan responded to a Wheaton Avenue residence on a report of a drug overdose. Upon arrival, the victim was exhibiting signs of an opiate overdose and was administered Narcan.
Oct. 6 -Patrolmen John Houghkirk and Patrolmen Warren Black responded to a North Charlottesville Drive home in Holiday City section at 3:47 p.m. on a report of a opiate overdose. The victim was administered Narcan.

Oct. 6 - Patrolman Alfred Foca responded to a Pheasant Drive home on a report of a drug overdose at 4:13 p.m. The victim was showing signs of an opiate overdose and was given Narcan.
Oct. 6 - October 6th at 6:39 p.m., Ptl. Warren Black responded to a Ford Avenue home at 6:39 p.m. on a report of a drug overdose. The victim was showing signs of an opiate overdose and was given Narcan.

All of the victims were taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River by the Berkeley Township First Aid Squa and MONOC paramedics for further treatment, the chief said.
