Holiday City House In Berkeley Uninhabitable After Car Careens Into It
The daytime Oct. 2 crash is still under investigation, police chief says

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Police are investigating just what happened on Oct. 2 when a car plowed into the northwest corner of a Guadeloupe Drive home, rendering it unhabitable, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.
Sgt. Frank Bruno, Patrolmen Joseph Chrzanowski, Michael Ptaszenski and Michael Tanis responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash at 12 p.m. They found a single vehicle had crashed into the home and caused substantial damage, the chief said.
The driver of the car was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment.

Manitou Park Fire Department members responded to the scene and cut all power, water, and gas to the home due to its condition. Township Building Inspector George O'Brien later deemed the building was uninhabitable, DiMichele said.
"The circumstances surrounding this accident are still under investigation at this time," she said.
