Juveniles Caught Walking In Backyards To Be Charged With Eluding

Berkeley police used a K-9 and a drone to locate the offenders, police chief says

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Berkeley police plan to charge two juvenile males with eluding after they spotted a suspicious person walking through backyards near Veterans and Western boulevards recently, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Police responded to the area at 10:50 p.m. on Nov. 25 and attempted to identify the subject. But he fled on foot into nearby woods. Police began to canvas the area, with the help of an Ocean County Sheriff's Department K-9, along with a drone, the chief said.

The one male was quickly found hiding in tall grass in front of Downing Avenue. The second juvenile was located nearby and both subjects were taken to police headquarters, DiMichele said.
