Michael William Jerden, Vietnam War Veteran, Dies At 67

Services for Lacey resident will be held on Thursday and Friday.

Michael William Jerden of Forked River passed away on Friday November 24, 2017 at his home. He was 67.

Born in England and formerly of Hillside and Union Beach, he moved to Forked River in 1989. Mike served in the US Air Force during Vietnam. He later worked as an engineer for PSE&G and Truck Driver. He was a member of the Forked River Presbyterian Church. Mike enjoyed enjoyed fishing, cooking, Harleys and playing the guitar.

Mike was predeceased by his father William in 2005 and his ex-wife Carol in 2015. Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Nancy, five children, Jonathan and his fiancé Melissa, Michael, Brian, Temperance and Maegan, two grandchildren Zachary and Elijah, his mother Phyllis Jerden of Mahoning Valley, PA and his brother Steven Jerden of Elizabeth.

A viewing will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017 until the time of a service at 8:30 p.m. at Riggs Funeral Home, 130 North Route 9, in Forked River. Interment will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 1 at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover, N.J.
