Police Investigate Shooting In Berkeley's Manitou Park Section

Police are seeking information from the public about a shooting that happened Monday in the Manitou Park section of Berkeley Township.

BERKELEY, NJ — Police are seeking information from the public about a shooting that happened Monday in the Manitou Park section of Berkeley Township.

Berkeley police received a 911 call around 3 p.m. reporting gunshots were fired in the area.

Officers responded to a home on Third Avenue and found a 29-year-old man with a bullet fragment in his face.

No other injuries were reported, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Berkeley Township Police Chief Karin DiMichele.

The man was treated for injuries at Community Medical Center in Toms River and released.

Billhimer and DiMichele said the investigation is ongoing.
