South Toms River Man Charged In Stabbings

James Powell was charged with aggravated assault and weapons charges, police say.

SOUTH TOMS RIVER, NJ — South Toms River police recently charged a area man with stabbing two people at a home here after they responded to a report of an altercation, according to the police department's Facebook page.

Officers responded to the home on Oct. 28, where they found one victim with stab wounds in the arm and hand. The victim was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River. Police were later notified that the victim's boyfriend had also been stabbed in the lower stomach area, according to the Facebook post.

After an investigation, police later arrested James Powell for aggravated assault and weapons charges, the post states. Powell was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River.
