Southern, Central Teachers Have Highest Median Salaries In Ocean

Teachers in the Seaside Heights school district come in third.

Southern Regional, Central Regional and the Seaside Heights school districts have the highest paid median teacher salaries in Ocean County, according to a report in nj.com

The report used data compiled from the state Department of Education, which compared median teacher salaries throughout the state.

The median salary among New Jersey teachers was $66,117 in 2016-17. But the median salary in school districts ranged from a low of $43,911 to a high of $105,650.

The median pay includes half of the teachers in a district making more than that number and half making less, according to the report.

Southern Regional - topped the list in Ocean County, at $79,843. Central Regional was second, with a median salary of $70,186. cwith was highest for teachers in the regional high schools, and lowest for the state’s charter schools.

The Seaside Heights school district - a K - 6 district - was third at $69,302.
