2 Injured in Grill Explosion

Two Farmingdale women were injured when a barbecue grill exploded, Suffolk police said Wednesday night.

The women, ages 70 and 77, were standing in front of the grill at the backyard of 17 Leanore Dr. when something underneath the grill blew up.

Police said they suspect a spray can underneath the grill exploded.

The women were taken to Nassau University Medical Center with burns that appeared to be non-life threatening. Police did not have further information on the extent of the burns.
