Crime Report: Bike, Jewelry Stolen

A blotter of the latest arrests and incidents in Farmingdale.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department, Nassau County Police Department, and New York State Police Troop L.  It does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

  • Carlos Cruz, 29 of Farmingdale, was arrested on Nov. 9 on Sunrise Highway near Unqua Road in Massapequa and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree and one
    violation of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • Helen Nash, 55 of North Massapequa, was arrested on Nov. 6 at Macy’s in Sunrise Mall and charged with petit larceny.
  • Derek Godwin, of East Farmingdale, was arrested in Farmingdale on Nov. 15 and charged with unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
  • Daniel Meyers, of Hudson, New York, was arrested in East Farmingdale on Nov. 12 and charged with obstructing governmental administration. 
  • Adam Halpern, of East Farmingdale, was arrested in East Farmingdale on Nov. 10 and charged with loitering with a controlled substance.

  • Michael Moncada, 20, of Farmingdale, was arrested on Nov. 9 at 5:39 p.m. at police headquarters in Hampton Bays and charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. After an investigation, police discovered that Moncada stole a $369 bicycle from a home on Rampasture Road on Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. and Moncada turned himself in, according to the report.
  • On Nov. 5, police responded to a burglary on Sussex Avenue in North Massapequa. The report said the unknown suspect(s) entered through a rear window and stole jewelery.
  • On Nov. 13, police responded to a burglary at a business on Marine Street in East Farmingdale.
  • On Nov. 13, police responded to criminal mischief in the parking lot of Crystal Cafe on Conklin Street at around 2 a.m. The report said a Jeep Cheroke had a broken passenger window, was spray painted and a tire was punctured.
  • On Nov. 13 mischief was reported to police on New Highway.
