Man Charged In Fatal South Farmingdale Crash: Police

The hit-and-run killed a man in January, police say. Police say they've caught the driver.

SOUTH FARMINGDALE, NY — A man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a fatal South Farmingdale hit-and-run from the winter, Nassau police said.

Christopher Rosselli, 24, of Wantaghm was charged with one count of leaving the scene of an incident resulting in a death. His arraignment was scheduled for Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Officers were called to 116 Merritts Road at 3:40 a.m. Jan. 28 for a report of a pedestrian struck, police said. They found Mohamed Elromi, 24, of Astoria, lying in the roadway with severe head trauma, police said.

A short-bed silver /gray pickup truck struck Elromi and left before officers arrived, police said. Elromi was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
