FARMINGDALE, NY — Farmingdale's 317 Main St. is hosting a special series with guest chefs.

"I was thinking, 'What can we do cool to bring other chefs in," 317 Main St. owner and chef Eric LeVine told Patch. "It gives them the ability to reach customers, maybe not in their wheelhouse. It gives us something fun to do."

The fun starts on April 29 as DeVine and Huntington Village's Chef Bravo Nader will lead a cooking demonstration.

"It gives him a platform to come and do a dinner," LeVine said. "It really creates that bond between the chef and the community."

Chefs from Blackbird Kitchen, 1653 Pizza Company and The State Room will be represented through June.

"It's great to collaborate with chefs like this," LeVine said. "I like to bring people together."

For LeVine, who has been in the restaurant industry for 44 years, "I still evolve and I still grow. I still know I have more to get better. It's all about that sharing and learning."

You can check the 317 Main St. website for ticket information about the events.

"The format of chefs coming in, no ones doing that," he said.

While, ultimately, it's a business for LeVine, "I think it's important to help others elevate their map on the island. If I can be helpful in that way, I want that."
