Watertown Falls to Top Seed in the Boys' Basketball Tournament

Undefeated North Reading ended the Raiders' season Saturday night.

Watertown High School's hopes for a run in the boys' basketball state tourney run ended Saturday when the Raiders ran into top-seeded North Reading.

The undefeated Hornets beat Watertown 57-40 in the Div. 3 North Section quarterfinals. North Reading, (21-0) got 22 points from senior forward John Mastascusa who also had 10 rebounds. and 6 blocks. Senior Tom Hogan added 17 points, according to a report on Boston.com. The Hornets were ranked 10th in the region by the Boston Globe.

The Raiders, the eighth seed, finishes the season with a record of 13-9. Watertown defeated Northeast Regional 80-57 in the first round of the tournament.
