Watertown Man Bikes 520 Miles to Raise Awareness of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

A documentary film documented Camilo Atehortua's ride.

Watertown's Camilo Atehortua went to great lengths to spread the word about post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), 520 miles to be exact.

The Marine Corps veteran rode a bicycle from Boston to Washington, D.C., to raise awareness about his cause, according to a report on Boston.com.

It took a week to complete the journey, and on his best days he would ride 90 miles, according to the report. Along the way, he stayed in gymnasiums and in a tent. He also battled the chill of November weather on the trip, which ended at the Iwo Jima Memorial in Washington.
